One of the great baseball mangers of the last half century. Best known as the skipper for the Big red machine, later steered the Tigers to a Championship in '84. The first manager to win World Series Championships in both leagues and the only manager to have the record for most wins for 2 separate teams.

The sign on his desk when managing the Tigers:
"This too shall pass."
Gotta love him.

What a bummer! I loved Sparky. A great manager. My Dad & I used to see the Big Red Machine every year. R.I.P. Sparky!
